can i mod my old xbox to play 360 games?

like can i get the hardwhere from a 360 and cram it into my old xbox or would it be cheaper to just buy a 360 or the better ps3
i completely for got about the controllers
im just tired of my boring old xbox and thought that if i just got the hardwhere that goes into a 360 then maybe i could put it into a xbox case and make it work
