How does hooking up online work for my Xbox 360?

Do i have to go and get a $160 wireless thing or do i connect it with cables. How? Ive got a wireless internet connection but how will i connect to it if im getting a Xbox 360 Pro?

You can use a ethernet cord, or you can buy a wireless adapter (can be the official Xbox 360 one, or can't be. doesn't matter) for it.
