Why is my xbox 360 choppy and laggy even when im not online?

When i play a game such as Overlord it's choppy and laggy but this isn't just for this game it happens to all my games i know it's not the heat because it's laggy as soon as i turn on my xbox 360.

this happens when theres lots of dust on the inside of the xbox, use a vaccum to clean out all the vents VERY good
