one of my favorites is Battlefield 2: Modern Combat. its pretty fast paced 1st person shooter action but its really addicting. its got a pretty decent ranking system also, so you dont get stuck with people who just destroy you in every game. the new RPG that came out, Two Worlds is extremely addicting on singleplayer. its got me hooked. its also live compatible and you can team up with up to 8 buddies online and do quests, or you can duel it out in a 1 vs 1 arena type deathmatch mode. i cant wait to co-op that game with a bud. its massive, so there's always something to do. NCAA 08 is another great title. its got new features on gaming and replays. new mode enables you to save those plays (like a 60 yd run for a touchdown, untouched) so you can show them off to everyone online or offline. if you like RTS's, Command and Conquer 3 is the series newest release. i have it for the pc and the gameplay is awesome, especially with a buddy. also offers a lot of new online features including the video uplink so you can actually see the person you're battling in real life. xbox has so many new and upcoming releases its ridiculous and nearly all of them are live enabled. so many titles, so little time to play them all. hopes this helps out!
