...and not wanting to drop a 100 bux? this is kind of a repost sorry, my neighboors let me leech off of their connection for 20 bucks a month. so i have no access to the router or modem, i cant call the cable company for another access point cause they will get in trouble for it and ill have to pay the full bill. I dont want to call xbox because chances are they will tell me my wireless reciever wont work because its not there brand (it is a netgear usb wireless g reciever for pc's) Is there any way i can get my reciever to work without dropping 100 on the 360 specific reciever
The 360 is a rip off. Your only real bet for avoiding paying $100 for MS's custom adapter is to get a second wireless router and use it as an access point.
Which is another reason to get the superior PS3, which comes with a free wireless adapter along with of course a Blu-Ray player, more powerful hardware, and so on.
