PS3 or Xbox 360 for Rock Band 2 and sports games?

Okay long story short. Last roommate had PS3 and Rock Band and I fell in love. Not living there anymore so wanting to buy a system and get Rock Band 2. Last system I bought was PS1 so I am a little out of date with the new stuff. Been reading and they talk about graphics and games that I wont use or play. The only other games I'd get are sports games or racing games that are usually made for both platforms. I would also use it to watch movies and I don't have a blue ray player. Any help?

Xbox 360 is better for shooters.
PS3 is better with everything else.
I say go with the PS3
And blu-ray is AMAZING!

I think xbox 360 my boyfriend plays ALL sports games and gears of war. He has had every console you can imagine and still his favorite is the 360.

Alright I would go for the Sports Games racing and Shooting Games Xbox 360 the controller is better for Sports games and the xbox 360 has better Racing Games.

Rock Band Guitar Hero are all the same BUT Xbox 360 has XBOX LIVE and its amazing but PS3 has online and its not as good.

Blu Ray is on PS3 and if thats a big deal to you then a PS3 is what you should get.

The Xbox 360 has a feature to upscale your DVD movies from 480i to 480p so they still look great. Also you can download all the new movies on your XBox 360 via Xbox Live in High Defition 720p

All in all I would pick the Xbox 360 it is Cheaper 199.99 for Arcade 299.99 Pro 60gb Hardrive and 399.99 Elite 120gb Hardrive.

But both great systems so whatever you choose you will be happy with.

Also Gears of War 1 and 2 and Halo 3 those are really amazing shooters and PS3 doesnt have that many shooters.

I'm a 360 (semi) fanboy, but if you're planning on watching movies, I'd have to recommend the PS3. The Blu-ray player alone is enough to make that choice, not mentioning the upcoming racer Gran Turismo 5. If you were into games mainly, the Xbox 360 would be a better choice (online play, games and price). Since you're into movies equally, buying the PS3 is a no brainer. Blu-ray is the only physical format for HD movies, and aside from a smaller game library, the PS3 is still pretty impressive for gaming.

i would say the PS3 because the graphics are quite good. I think the sports games are better on the 360 but not as much as the margin betweeen how much better the PS3 is for Rock Band 2, at least in my opinion. People say XBOX live is the best online, its better but the Playstation Online is free, so i would take the PS3, plus it has the Blu Ray player
