Should I get a PS2 or Xbox 360?

I am allowed to choose either Xbox 360 or PlayStation 2 for my birthday, what one should I get? I currently have no gaming systems and im 13. I like racing/shooter/crime games.

Also tell me what one has better gameplay, online gaming etc.
Please make the decision based on price of games, graphics, game library, intended audience of majority of games and please tell me for the PS2 when games will stop being sold new in shops.
By "intended audience of most of the games" I mean are most of the games G-rated and for kids or are they all R-rated and for adults/teens?
Can you please give me some reasons WHY I shouldnt get ps2 not just how much the Xbox360 "rocks". Gimme some evidence.

Well first of all, it is "E" rated is for kids.......and "M" rated it for mature like 17+...............I'm gunna say you shuld get an X-Box360 because it has more graphix......and then there is X-Box Live which is really kool........and you can play X-Box games on the X-Box360.......hope i helped you out..

xbox 360 no doubt. there are such a large variety of games and all the ones u like. but a lot of them are rated M for mature which is for 18+ but u should get it anyway. get HALO 3 cuz its amazing and u could get xbox live which is so much fun. the price cut made it 200 dollars which is pretty cheap...and u could even use it as a dvd player which is cool...i love the 360

R u seriously asking this question right now? wow dude i own a ps2 and xbox 360 and the xbox 360 is 56189418919815641871851 times better!!!! wow the graphics, the XBOX LIVE!!! which is the sh!t and yeah xbox 360 is all the way! i'm addicted to that crap. Also, you get achievements. So not only r u playing just the games, ur playing for achievements and xbox live is just amazing and never gets old.

most games for 360 are M or T. The 360 is more towards older teens/young adults.

ok. 360's are better but the good games are $100+
ps2's are ok and have $30 to 70$ games
ps2's have free online play and xbox live is $80 a year.
xbox's have the best shooting and crime games
like call of duty 4, gta 4 and saints row 4.fable 2 is coming out on 360 which should be excellent.
fallout 3 is also coming out and is the best fps i've ever seen
get a 360 if you can afford to buy the games

No question, an xbox360. And get the $300 one. It comes with a hard drive, a wireless headset, and a controller. It rules! The xbox has more adult type games but halo 3 and call of duty 4(which are rated m for mature) don't even have much blood at all. Just a small splat when you die. I even see 8 year olds on halo 3 playin'. Xbox 360 gtames tend to cost a little more but they are worth the money. The versions they make for the playstation 2 are usually downgraded a lot to fit the system specs.
(a little add on note: on halo 3 you can make your own maps with the forge feature! W00t Racetracks!!!!
