Does the XBOX 360 Wireless Controller for Windows work with all PC games? Even...

...EA Sports Games? I bought NHL 08 by EA Sports and I was not able to get the controller to work properly. I read a few online reviews and they said the XBOX wireless controller for windows only works with Microsoft studios games. Is this true or does anyone have any experience with other games?
