which controller is better for sports games and which system is better for

sports games xbox 360 or ps3? i cannot decide which one to get
i already decided im going to get a wii and can only afford one more system
im really into sports games and fighting games, kinda shooting
ive only played 2 shooting games ewll 3 if you include gta
so tom clancy ghost recon (ps2) and doom for pc
i love doom
anyway the controller is a big thing for me and i dont know which one is better i liked the ps2 controller but i heard the ps3 one is really different.
so which one is better for sports games?
